Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here, thank you. I know your time is precious so I’ll get right to it. 😉
I love Jesus. Every single day, He fills my heart with love, hope, and the strength to keep on keeping on. My hubby and I have been together for almost 25 years on quite the journey of ups and downs. I’m pretty sure we all have those in some form or another. It is by God’s grace that we both are still here sharing love and life together. The greatest blessings are of course our two daughters, ages 21 and 15. They are indeed my greatest accomplishment despite Type I Diabetes (diagnosed 30 years in March 2017).
In addition to being a wife and mother, I contend with quite a few other chronic illnesses such as Fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s Hypothyroid, Asthma, Gastroparesis(in remission praise, the Lord), and IBS. Chronic pain not only from Fibromyalgia, but also hip surgery, three knee surgeries, a shoulder surgery, a back injury, a hysterectomy, and a hernia surgery try to monopolize my life.
I LOVE Lake Superior! I have yet to find any other location that brings my body and soul so much peace and tranquility! Fuzzy socks, a comfy hoodie, and lavender tea/coffee are some of my favorites!
We have two rescue cats, Moose and King Tut, and a rescued horse, Chita. The cats have filled my days with simple joy and laughter. They’ve only been with us about a year (in our home), but we’ve known them for six. Such good, good boys. After years of harsh winters, they are LOVING indoor life.
If you haven’t noticed yet, I love all things creative and beautiful. Up until now, photography is my art of choice. In the coming weeks, I want to work with mixed media, acrylic, and encaustic painting. There is something about playing with color, light, various mediums, as well as using my hands, that appeals to me.
Here’s the main takeaway from this page, once we align our souls with God’s will, amazing and beautiful things begin to develop. She Breathes Hope is about encouraging and offering the tools needed to excavate that beauty and purpose within your life, despite the illnesses and heartaches. Just as God is the Ultimate Creator, why wouldn’t He use creativity as a way to awaken us from turmoil and fill our days with additional purpose?
She Breathes Hope is a place of renewal and inspiration; a resource of beauty, hope, and strength. My goal is to encourage and even challenge women to claim all that Jesus has for them. The Lord is beauty, and I firmly believe He created a world full of lovely things and wonderful moments, just to draw us closer to Him. Furthermore, in the trials, if we seek His grace, we will find it.
As God’s children, we need to treasure that which makes our hearts sing, and our spirits rejoice. He has given us this life to live in the fullness of joy. We must embrace the creating, the making, the serving, and the giving, deeply planted within our souls. Our story and art awaken as we spend time nurturing our heart, soul, and mind in God’s truth and loveliness. This is where your art time becomes sacred, and this is where I love to rest. When we seek creativity as a way to honor God in our everyday life, the pain calms, and the ailments have to take a back seat, if just for 20 minutes.
Will you take this journey with me? I want to take His hand, dream boldly, and imagine a life where simple beauty is as meaningful as air. Let’s slow down together, encourage one another, and awaken the extraordinary beauty from within our ordinary, everyday lives.
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus return.” Philippians 1:6
At She Breathes Hope, I believe that:
God is in all things, the difficult and the amazing.
Beauty is a gift, an invitation to focus on Him.
Stories are meant to inspire, encourage, and even transform
the hard into glimpses of grace and glory.
Comparison and perfectionism only stunt our true identity in Christ.
Life is full of beauty where creative joy resides within every single person.
The fun part is the life-long journey of discovery, of Jesus, and of ourselves.
